Hey all, I just had an AvantGuard 5 installed, and I got the CliffNet wizard kit, and downloaded the latest Wizard from their site. When I open it, it detects the alarm, but when I click Continue a small window called "Interrogating System Compontents" comes up and never goes away (after 30+ minutes). Any ideas?

If you are using the wrong version of CliffNet Wizard on a XP computer it will not work properly. I am simply giving you a heads up in that regard with respect to OS conflicts.

Thanks for the heads up. As far as I know, this is the one that works with XP. The page I got it from said version 2.1 (which is what I have) works with NT/2k/XP, and so did the installer, so I'm assuming that it does.

Does it give you the option to select your model of alarm first?

It did, and I selected Avantguard 5. It doesn't give me that option anymore.

Hrmmmmm. Well the first thing I would do is reboot your laptop. Then reconnect your alarm CPU to the laptop and see what happens.

OK, now what does it do? Just sits there, and does nothing?
If that is indeed the case, I would first unplug the alarms power, and let it drain for about 60 seconds.
Then do the reboot procedure of the laptop while the cable is disconnected from the alarm. Once the laptop is up and running.
Power up the alarm system wait aprox 60 seconds, then reconnect the cable and enter the Wizard interface.
