I'm having the same problem!  I downloaded the program from cliffards website, so I'm not sure if that could be the reason it freezes up.  using it with the intelliguard 850.  It shows a information bar that states that my alarm is disarmed and that my ignition is off and if i arm it, it says that the alarm is armed and to disarm it to continue so I know that the cord is conected properly.  When I press continue it freezes.   PLEASE HELP!  It says that the program is the 2.10

Defective cable? Wrong Com Port? Com port conflict - being used by something else?

the problem is caused by incompatible serial ports, usually due to a converter being used or a poor driver.

I was trying to use mine through a USB port and converter cable with "prolific" software driver and it wouldn't have any of it, I bought a hardware com port and it worked first time.
