check the ribbon harness from the alarm make sure it is plugged in and also make sure the unit is sending out negative signals during remote start to see if the brain is faulty.

if it starts when its warmish,  then everything is hooked up properly.  It has to be either a bad starter moduel, or you may have a cold solderd wire that separates whe it gets cold out.

I have the same problem, Commando 5005 on Honda Accord 1998. When temperature goes down less than 10 degree F (day and night), Car can't start by remote control (Vehicle cranks and begins to run, then shuts off)
I think that happen because I did not connect tach wire, I will work on it tomorrow.

Do like someone advised and place the key in the switch the next time it wont start and see if it will work then. You can do a search for Mazda Tributes in particular and see where the immobilizer bypass doesnt work when its very cold. I would use tach also.
