Got a 2000 escalade and the guy had a previous stereo hooked up, but it all got stolen. So i used the turn on lead he had already and whenever the cars turned on the subs make a thump noise. Is there a way to solve this problem?? Thanks

What kind of amp are you using ???? The thump comes from the amp turning on, usually poor quality amps cause this problem most good amps have a turn on delay or a curcuit built in to minimize this thump. It sounds like the remote wire you used is connected to an ignition wire- turning the amp on when ther car is started(this is ok), But I would check all conections at the amp make sure ground is tight and rcas are all ok ,If you cannot fix the problem buy a new amp. Another thing would be if you added an aftermarket radio then use the remote lead off the radio to turn on the amps(at least this way they will only thump when radio is turned on. )

I agree with mobiletoys2002, if you have an aftermarket deck, use the blue w/ white wire on that harness.  If that doesn't work, or you're using your factory deck do this:

Try putting a diode inline on the turn-on lead, then put either a 470uf or a 1000uf cap in parallel.  This will delay the amp turning on, and should get rid of the pop.  The cap has to charge up before it'll allow voltage to pass to your amp remote.  What you want to do is experiment with different value caps so that the radio comes on before the amp.  You should be all set.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
