there are other reasons to connect a tach for one --your battery may be going it will never remote start correctly if batery levels fluctuate sinse it is relying on voltage. See voltage sensing works by the unit seeing the diference from 12 to lets say 14 volts when it sees 14 volts it thinks the car is running. That is as long as your battery is in good condition weather affects the battery which will also affect the starting, GO TACH TRUST ME !!!! I will bet it is cold there too!

Wait try to change the voltage sensing to low it is on high as default this may work . that will be about the only thing you can do in voltage sensing as well as maybe make it crank a little longer so it will start the first time. To change the setting to low go into option 3:6 i believe!

Hey Kenhamr,
If I'm not too confused, you're looking for a tach wire for a 1990 GMC van.
It will be a White wire at position A6 on the main connector of the ECM. The ECM is under the driver's seat.
Enjoy!
