the situation is that i have a 2002 f150 xcab, i have a in-dash lcd and a dvd player that i want to place under the driver seat. the problem is that i dont have room to place a deck to hook up my speakers to.right now i have a sony 760 watt amp hooked up to one 12 and the other speakers are hooked up to the factory deck with an in the console 6disk changer. my question is, before i take uot the stock deck to make room for the lcd, how can i hook this up to send sound from the dvd player to speakers?

Is the LCD a flip-out head unit with preouts?  What kind of inputs does it have?  Is the DVD a same brand which uses a DIN cable for signal?

Sorry, I guess I wasn't paying too much attention to the title, now was I?  How about locating a deck in the glove compartment?  Or a custom console that extends to the dash, and you could install one there, or put the screen there?

the lcd just has a power, ground and video signal, the dvd has rca outs. one of the things i was wondering was if i could hook all my speakers up to my amp and use the volume control on the dvd player.

Try it and see.  Aren't you gonna miss your tunes though (fm)?

You could run the RCA's from the DVD player directly to the amp.  Power and ground are a no-brainer.  For the turn-on, I'd just catch the accessory wire behind the dash.  You might want to put a toggle switch inline so you can turn it off at your convenience.

If your 12 inch is bridged on your amp and you want or have to keep it that way, the thing you can hook up the rest of your speakers to another amp (like 100 watt or so) and avoid the deck altogether.  Then just run the RCA outputs of the dvd to the amps.  I'm sure just like any other dvd player there is a volume control built in that would be sufficient enough to control the volume with.
