Hey Everyone,

Awesome info on this site, but I can't seem to find a answer for this one...

I recently installed a Crimestopper RS-900 VI remote starte in my Mom's '99 Rav4 L, and was sucessful with everything except the lock feature. I don't remember the wire colors, but I found 2 wires that show with either the lock button or the key in door, but neither will work with the new key fob. I thought the unlock was going to be the tricky part!

Any Help would greatly be appricieated! Greg

What is it I need to do with the child saftey wire? And if it has 2 lock wires would I then connect the 1 alarm wire to both factory lock wires? Thanks, Greg

listen there is a relay under the dash on the drivers side if you lock the doors with the switch u will hear this click!!!!That is where u wanna be, the wire colors are blue/white for lock and blue / YELLOW for unlock these are negative triggered so use the negative output for the doors locks! If it had a child safety then u will need a diode and face the band towards the alarm on the unlock wire and the other side of the diode will go to a blue wire that is how u do child safety! The child safety wire gets pulsed ground when the unlock switch is pressed or when the key is turned in the passenger door i believe.
I would try not to get the child safety wire u may not need to!!

Thanks Man, I'll give that another try. I just thought I was really missing something by not getting the lock feature to work. And I never heard anything about the child saftey wire before, Thanks Again, Greg

listen gc714 you dont need the child safety wire to make the door locks work, just hook up the 2 wires i told you and that is all!!! u may not need th echild safety wire hooked up and i told you there is a way of turning that feature off! If you dont have kids u dont need it!! Last thing if the door lock wires off the alarm cannot work the locks with th ewires i told you then it may need a stronger ground to do this would require 2 relays but i dought this ,just letting you know! If you need anything else pm me or post back here. good luck
