I have the schmatic to cheat the system but just wanted to know after getting the reading for the resister from the key.....in my case its 1.126 OHM............what kind of resister should I get....could someone please help me out (If u have not fiqured out. I am a newbie)  should the resister be 1/4watt or  1/2 watt or 1watt.....and can I use more than one resister to get into my range of 1.126 OHM +/- 10 ohm?

Spoon Feed me please if possible Bypass VATS 95 Buick Lesabre - Last Post -- posted image.

Use the 1/2 watt resistors and use this chart to help you get what you need as far as the value goes.

"1.126 OHM"

maybe you mean mean K Ohm ? (1000 * 1.126 = 1126 Ohm)

the lowest VATS value starts at 392...

as a safe measure, i try to stay within a 5% window.

in this case,  1,126x5%=56.3

        1,126+56.3=1182.3ohms

        1,126-56.3=1069.7ohms

this is your window of tolerance. make sure your resistor meters between 1,182.3ohms and 1069.7ohms and you should be just fine.

1/4 watt or 1/2 watt should work just fine. just be careful when soldering as not to burn up the resistor.

 good luck and have fun!!!

do it right the first time....less warranty work=more money!:)

yes you can, and make sure that if you want the resitances to add up connect the resitors in series, and if you have two 600ohm (for example) resistors and hook them up parallel, you will get 300 ohms.  something like this

1000 ohm     100 ohm

-------0------- -------0-------      Result will be 1100 ohms

       -------0------- 1000 ohm

       -------0------- 1000ohm      Result will be 500 ohms
