i have an acura legend 94

hooked up to a jvc head unit

i took out the bose head unit and switched it

it worked fine for a whle

its hooked up to my amp and other subs

it worked fine for about a week then all of a sudden

the anteanna would go down while the head unit is on.

and the amp stopped powering.

not sure wat the problem is

You have either grounded out the remote on wire / power antenna wire or have shorted it out so bad that it has taken out a diode or resistor in the cd player that powers the circuit. Very, very few cdplayers have a fused remote on line but just in case, check to see if it does. Have you disconnected the remote on wire from the amp yet? DO this and jump a wire from the + terminal on the amp to the remote on on the amp, does it fire up? If the answer is yes, dig out the remote on cable from front to back, check it for cuts / nicks etc. Do you have a meter to check the voltage on the remote on line? If so check it behind the deck, if no power is found on that line, it is time to send the deck for service or temporarily the remote on line can be hooked to the ignition line (red wire) on the headunit.

i think there is a short on the head unit. im gonna take it to get it looked at

cuz then ever since the guy insallted my head unit, it was fine for a week then all of a sudden it would short out. i'm not sure how to check the remote wire. but i'll ask the guy who installed the head unit to see what the problem is thanx

what should i ask him to do or check? i'm not sure wut to tell him to make sure he fix's it. lolz i wanna make sure i get wut i paid for lolz

oh yeah also i'm planning on getting a 4guage amp kit is that better than 8 guage ?

cuz i cureently have 8 guage. also. i'm gonna buy  a rockford fosgate capciattor is it good?
