I'm not sure if they're generic. They're definitely german. Hard to get a hold of out by me too. A buddy of mine used to have a set of them 12", in a bandpass box. They sounded pretty nice. For 100 bucks, They are a good deal. I'd pay 100 bucks for 2 of them. Good luck man.

Big magnets does not = good speaker. Have a look into a magnet type called Neodynium, it is expensive, but extremely light and has much more magnetic force than a low energy and inexpensive and large iron magnet, next up would be a strontium magnet etc. Volfenhag has a German name, but is in fact made in Singakoreachinatiawanapore. It is OK entry level equipment, it may one day be a mainstream, but have a lot of proving themselves first. It is easiest for them to market their equipment in avenues like E-Bay and e-tailers rather than main line car audio dealers. Every year there is 10 or more companies that bring products to market, and every year there is 10 or more that go out of business, some of the lucky few make it to main stream or high end status, but it takes time.

Yea, i agree with forbidden. I was just merely saying, that from the experience i had with them, 2 12" VH subs for 100 bucks is a steal.

I have sold Volfenhag in the past.  Maybe I had bad luck but then, oh well...that also equaled bad profit. I sold/sell then Kicker Comps for ten bucks less each. The kicker's sounded better and louder amp for amp and handled more power although rated for much less. I have not directly compared them to other speakers to that extent. Experience hails where ratings fail.

JL W0 subs would sound better then both of those for about the same price. The volfenhag subs would probobly play louder but not better.
