We have purchased an after market remote starter. We need to know if anyone knows the wire color leading to the wait to start light on a 2003 Ford Excursion (7.3 Diesel federal), and how to verify that it is correct. We have been given blk/pink stripe and violet/orange stripe. Neither one signals on the meter during light function. Note: 2003 uses led. Also we would love to have an OEM wiring diagram.

readytohammer ,

most remote start alarms have a deisel delay option in the program selections. that eliminates the need for a wait to start wire.

I have deep 6 the first unit because of a guess delay not to my liking. The new unit requires 12+ or 12- to latch the crank relay,[or last choice guess delay]. I belive the signal to the wait light and plug glow relay, can not be detected by my new unit .My Fluke shows no volt signal either, when the wait to start light goes on or off. I am considdering a current sensing relay off the glow plug power dist..My theory is that the dash and glow plug control unit have brainy little relays that latch on and off via the big head,"pcm". Also,in one year all this will be old news.
