i'm running two 12" MTX Thunder 6000 T6124A 4-ohm subs with an alpine MRP 350 amp off a pioneer deh-7500 in a 98 accord coupe.  my last car was a 99 jeep grand cherokee with stock infinity gold sound system with 2 12" blaupunkt (old, beat up 250 rms) and a crap mtx amp (85w x 2).  the bass in the jeep sounded much better and louder than my new equipment does in the honda.  is this just because bass sounds better in an suv?  i'm a little annoyed the money i've spent so far hasn't yielded better results, i know i didn't buy top quality equipment but its better stuff than before.  (don't get me wrong it can get loud but it just does not sound as good) any suggestions?

Have you tried moving your subs around in your trunk? Try facing them in the opposite direction then they are right now. Also try moving it left and right as much as you can and see if you can tell a difference. Have you adjusted your gain properly on your amp? If not then try doing a search on this site on how to properly adjust your gain on your amp.

i currently have the subs facing towards the rear of the car (this seems to be the preferred method) and i have not played around with the gains. that will be my next step...i started fooling around with the audio controls on the HU yesterday and that did help.
