My idea for surgery on one of the Viper remotes is that the OEM remote would arm AND disarm the Viper in conjunction with the door locks. When the doors locked, it would "press the arm button" on the the modified Viper remote, when the door unlocked, it would "press the disarm button" on the modified Viper remote.

Your life will be easier if you just give up and embrace the Viper remote, and put your OEM remote away in a drawer at home. The Viper remote should be able to do everything the OEM remote does anyway, INCLUDING disarming the factory alarm (through a disarm wire).

If it were me, I'd be stubborn and find a way to do it, but I am willing and able to do the surgery myself. If you are not, then explaining this to a shop and getting them to agree to do it may be not worth the hassle.
