I have an old go cart that is modeled after the 1985 indy 500 pace car, my question is what is the easiest way to hook up a couple of 6x8s so i can have some tunes? there is basically just an engine but no battery.i am thinking basic deck and two speakers just to get some sound out of it. thought it would be a cool project.

Does the ga-cart have an alternator with 12V output and at least 20 amps of capacity?  If it does not have a sufficient electrical system, you best bet is to use a battery powered boom box.

If your go cart dosn't have a sufficient alternator (or dosn't have one) then you could try putting a battery in back and running your deck off of that. That is if you can find room in your go cart for all of that stuff. This guy has an alternator i guess(I don't see a battery in the picture) because he has a small system in his: Go Cart

i put a stereo in a go cart once, i used an old sea doo or jet ski battery, just used a battery charger to recharge it when needed, it was pretty small so it wasnt hard to mount ( about 7 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 4 inches tall)  it worked wonderfully.
