here is my 2 cent: with the amp that you have running, the sony 1000 watts, get either the JL 12w0's or MTX 6000.  You can get the MTX's in dual 4 ohm voice coil and wire two of them in 4 ohm mono.

If you have a local dealer that sells JL buy some W0 subs. If not or if just plain don't want JL stuff then definitely buy the Infinity subs. Volfenhag is in the same category as Audiobahn it looks like (more bling then sound).

my freind has two volfenhag 12s in an awesome award winning ported box in his blazer.  god damn loud as hell.  its all in the box.  the only thing i dont like about them is they have kind of a metallic sound to them listening up close, but you wouldnt hear it in a trunk.

Bang Bang, some of us will not reply to topics like this as they are way to general in purpose. Every Tom, Dick and Harry has there favorite brand to use and their favorite brand to hate. From what I have read on this thread, you have a lot of good replies from people who have had good experiences with many brands. Alot of these people are people just like yourself and will share what they know. Some of us have the luxury of years of experience and the capability to play with different audio gear every day. This experience and use of different gear gives us a definite edge when it comes to designing systems for different people and differing vehicles. I could easily recommend many things for you, as could Dyohn or Bberman1 and many others, but it is you that needs to do the research into what you need and what you can afford. Then if you need help, we'll be glad to answer your question as it will not be in a general form, it will now be specific.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Bang Bang, if your going to chose between volfenhag and infinity, id say hands down infinity, their perfect line is stellar. these white nonscalant subs are very reliable and a pair of 12.1 perfets would be a nice slam for your buck.
