Amplifier Cooling

I need to figure out a way to effectivly cool my amplifier in case it gets too hot. I havnt had a problem with it YET, but I havnt run it for more than 20 minutes since I installed it.

2 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect DVC

I made an MDF "basket" with a clear lucite cover, and I'm afraid it might get too hot

I average about 40 minutes every morning to school and maybe an hour or so on the weekends. Since its practically sealed off from any outside air, I was thinking of using computer fans, and putting 2 in the lucite panel, or in the MDF underneath, but I'm not sure if this would be sufficient cooling.

Any suggestions??

You will want to mount two quality fans on both side's of the basket, one blowing air in and one blowing it out. This should help you with keeping the amp cool by providing enough air circulation. You will to get some decent fan's and no cheap one's as once they are mounted you won't really have a good view of them so it will be hard to tell if they fail. Some computer case fans with 4-5" blades should do the trick.

Does it matter that the "basket" hangs into the spare tire well (with spare tire in there) and air circulation isnt exactly great?I have a temp. sensor inside, with the display up in the c**kpit next to the remote bass controller, just incase it does start getting too hot. As well, I have a Remote Data Display Panel mounted up front, so if the amp shuts off, it'll let me know.
