Yea Rob, Lears are great if you can find them and can afford the price of admission.  Didn't Lear invent the 8-track?  JBL car audio amplifiers are, by the way, designed by Crown for Harmon International and assembled in the USA and in China.  High-end and professional series amps in the US, lower-lines in Goundong.  All JBL speakers are designed and assembled in the USA but use Chinese and (eghad!) Canadian components; alll Infinity (owned by the same company) speakers are assembled in China.

ok, so I built the box for my shiva that i will be ordering shortly, its a copy of one of the boxes from the Adire site, the 54 liter sealed enclosure.  im guessing that this will be a sufficient enclosure to provide nice SQ at lower volume levels while still being able to play loud? i decided against the smaller sealed design because it would be maybe an inch wider than the sealed box im currently using for my rockford HE 10" sub, and im somewhat satisfied with the current setup, just looking for more as i dont feel the rockford is a great sq sub.  im just wondering. it will be in a hatchback type application, and i will be able to build other boxes if im not satisfied, i was just looking for more opinions.

I'm not sure where you got that enclosure size from, but it is a little large for the Shiva.  Are you looking at the home theater alignments?  I would recomend around 34 liters for that sub in a car.  Especially if you have a lot of power.

there was a .pdf file on the Adire site with examples of 3 different sealed enclosure applications for the shiva. i may have been looking at a home theater alighnment, so that could be it.  would 54 liters be more conducive to a vented application?  if so, i have always wanted to hear a vented box in my car. i do still have 3 sheets of mdf to build another box tho.
