I've recently purchased an Alpine cva 1004 and I want to use a playstation as my DVD source, but I dont want to play music through it, so i am thinking about buying a  Alpine CDA 9811. How do I hook up both so I get sound, through the play station and the CD player? Is it possible, if not what do I need? Thanks

let me see if i get this: you want to use the cva 1004 only to play movies and want to use the cda 9811 for your system?

You can do this by just connecting constant, ignition and ground to the cva 1004 and hook up ur play station video cable to it.  this will give you picture only to the unit.  then you can connect your cda 9811 for your whole system. ( connect it to ur speakers and all).  now for the sound of the playstation, get an FM modulator that will run ur sound through the 9811.

or you can hook your entire system up to the cva-1004 and connect the 9811 to it as an auxillary input.  This way, you won't need an fm modulator.
Do it right the first time
