Im looking into a few sets of high end seperates and was hoping some of you have experience with them... Im thinking about running the jbl gti608 or Focal polykevlar 165k2. i plan on running them as a front stage in my 84 vw gti, placement isnt a problem because the entire interior will be reworked to achieve the best stage. I also plan on running either a 8inch midbass in each door or a single 10 sealed under the dash. any words of wisdom from a diehard audiophile will be greatly appreciated
thanks

I think that if you can get sufficant space under the dash, you should do the ten both because of sound and because, how often do you see tens under the dash of a vehcle. As far as speakers go I really like the focal stuff. Im sure it is only a matter of time before some one suggest quart, and quart make a nice speaker but its a speaker you MUST listen to first because they are naturally bright and some people dont like them. Focal give a little bit more of a flat, true sound to them. Whatever you decide on you should make sure you listen to them first. I have never understood people who buy speakers they have never heard off of the net. I just dont see that being a good idea.

I agree with ya on the ten, not only do i think it will make the bass omnidirectional but it will make it a lot easier to get away with running a single 15 jbl gti sub for the lows without worrying about poor mid-bass response. I was running Quart reference series in my integra and i agree about the brightness its almost makes the percussion too tinny. unfortunately its hard in my area to listen to focals, nobody but me sells them luckily i worked out a deal with my supplier today so i can test there utopia and polykevlar lines and return them if i dont like them for the cost of shipping. Thanks for the opinionAdvice on seperates -- posted image.
