Guys, i live in Nicosia, Cyprus, not the US. Here we dont have much options. I should be happy that I found the RSX 3.5 at the first place!!!

No viper here, etc.

All that I am trying to find out is if that alarm is difficult to install.

I got the diagram, but since I odnt know alot about electronics, I cannot really read it.

I seems like alot of wires though...

Is it that difficult?

the first thing i recommend ppl to get to know the:
-relay, how it works.
-DMM, digital meter, how to test for wires w/o relying on a reference or diagram.
-take ur time to lay out wires so wires wont be running all under the dash.
-the first car that i did, i didnt have a diagram or a reference to rely on, all i have was my brain and the DMM and it came out very smooth.
-other than that its just a matter of reading your manual and plug and chug.

So a reputable electrician who knows his job well, by having the car's diagram and the alarm's, can do the job no problem, right?

Oe should I gamble and have the Clifford dealer install it?

Issues.... "Or should I gamble and have the Clifford dealer install it?"

They sell the product, it'll be definitely be under warranty.  If anything goes wrong...sue them.  What kind of precious "poruse" do you have anyway?

Sue them...yeah right, after they f**k up my car.  things here ins Cyprus are not like the US. To sue someone needs alot of efford and persistence, and a trial may last upto 5 years.

I have a 1998 Carrera coupe.

When you say "professionally installed" do you mean the Clifford dealer, or a good electrician/??

I certainly wont be putting the thing myself!!

also mechanic does not equal mobile electornics installer.  they throw fits when cars with alarm/remote starts come in for warranty work.  they come up with things like the blinking light on the aiwa radio caused the muffler to fail.  sure it did.....

im still amazed by the mechanic who called my install bay telling me its our fault that a customers remote start doesnt work after he relpaced a coil pack.  GEE DID YA CUT THE TACH WIRE?! uhh i did cut a wire from a harness.... wow, a car with a remote starter and a wire running to a coil pack... HMMM.  hook it back up and reprogram the tach signal.  DO WHAT, YOU GUYS ARE PAYING FOR IT, paying for what, 30 seconds of labor... you installed the damn thing and you cant solder a wire?

lesson to learn:  pay someone who does it every day for a living.  that is their job.  not something they think they can handle.  cars now have to much sensitive electronics and immobilizers to just be hacking away in.
