To program it with the valet switch do the followin,

Open the drivers door.

Turn the ignition to the on position (not run) then back off

Withing 5 Sec. hold the valet switch in, the siren should chirp once, release the button and hold it in again, the siren should chirp 2 times, release the button and hold it one more time the siren should chirp 3 times. This means you've accessed Menu #3 (which is in the install manual)

Within 10sec, press the valet switch 3 times and hold it in on the 3rd press. This puts you to Menu #3  Feature #3

Press the unlock on your remote once to set the remote start timer from 12mins to 24min. Press once more for 60min timer.

When the desired time is selected release the valet switch and close the door to save the settings.

You dont need a bitwritter for this it just makes it easier.

unfortunately using the valet programming switch you can only increase it to another preset interval... 24 or 60 minutes... with a bitwriter you can make it anything you want from 1 minutes up to 60... i have mine at 16...  but keep in mind that when you use the cold start or timer mode, it will run for its programmed run time.. so dont make it too high, cause thats how long it will run every 3 hours....

hit it three times then hold it on the4th.  that bumps you to one two three HOLD ON 4.

also, make sure you initially hold it for a while.  it should blink/chirp once holding it, then twice, then 3 all together meaning you accessed menu, one, two, then three.  then release it.  press it one, two, three, then hold on 4, press the ch. 2 button.  then turn the ignition on and off to exit programming.

bitwriter is optional.
