I have the opportunity to buy an Alpine SEC-8063 alarm sytem at a reasonable price but I don't know a lot about the system.  Can anyone share any stories or advice (good or bad) about this system?  Any input is welcomed and appreciated.

Nice alarm but sh*tty range !! Make sure that you install it correctly other wise it won't be any better than a cheap alarm system. Also, get the expansion module for 12 AUX channels.... it's way kool.

Speaking of the expansion module ... do you know where I can get it?  I have been looking EVERYWHERE but I can't find it.  Thanks.

We can get one for you but they are special order items. The cost on one is $ 125.00 but it's worth it !! I can control my windows up & down, sunroof open and close, trunk and hood pop, mirrors open and close and I still have 4 extensions left to boot !! I don't even know what I can do with those except the radio functions.

For expansion modules, I'm assuming they come with a new remote that has more buttons?  You don't have to carry around 2 remotes, right?  Is it like a SHIFT button or something?

Can you only use the expansion for that alarm, or can you use it on others?

The Alpine expansion module you use the existing 5 button remote control to control the other 8 extensions. ( The 8063 has 4 already ). For all you Alpine 8063 owner's you use the button on the side ( MODE ) and it has a green light and orange light and it flashes a certain amount of times that correspond to the EXT that you want. The Alpine expansion module is only for the 8063 or the 8081 alarm systems. It is not a universal application module.
