i second that notion.... if the ring isn't tight... yer screwed.  I try to cut the fleece so that the sub will sandwich it betwwen the ring also, I'm a little paranoid about these things

well when I did the resin on the outside, I soaked.. and I mean SOAKED the rings to the point that I was worried if I did it anymore that the fleece would get too saturated. If the rings arent adhered to the fleece, i'd be shocked!.

9 layers was for 4 10 in HX2's, not the little ones, the 3110 ones. A friend of mine was like "Hey, I got some kool looking subs from this shop, do you know if their any good?" I almost passed out when I realized what he had. Needless to say, 4 10" HX2's blew apart the 5 layered box we origionally built, after that we went bizerk and threw on 4 more layers, and enough resin and reinforment to park an aircraft carrier on. I generally use just 6-7 layers for my more common 2 sub boxes, but I'm kinda weird, I insist on having more than 2 subs, I hate having just 2, because of this I build my boxes between 7 and 9.
Oh, defective, that was a good one, the 6 voice coiled sub. I wonder how big the friggin magnet would be haha.
PS, a little tip for the rings. If you make those prefab looking ones like you can buy off w/e that one site is you can get screwed if they dont cling. For this reson make a third ring, use it between your mount ring and the fleece (screw them 2gether and resin all around them) that will solve that possible delima

not to break all your hearts but resin by its self is not srong at all. and it is better to use the bare minimum resin for the job. one trick you can use to help it soak is to take a bodyfiller spreader and squeege the resin after you brush it on. this will help push the resin thru the fleece or whatever.
when pouring resin into the inside of the box, you will want to have a thickening agent or something to make the resin strong in there as well, like some torn up chop mat or something like that.
