I used to sell the 550x and I actually just put one in a couple days ago. I think they are a fine amp for the money so if you can get one on a deal its a perfectly fine amp that is gonna drive your speakers fine.

Now yer talkin!  Rf amps, especially the new line are awesome.  They are in a whole other class then the Kenwwood amp you were checking out.  I'm getting either a new Punch P500 or a Power 551S to power a new Alpine R 12.  After doing a lot of research-I'm goin RF!

Be careful when buying used equipment on E-Bay. I bought a used MTX 4 channel amp that I thought was a great deal. Well, I lost out big time. The add said it was in good working condition. I took it to an installer to have it put in my van and he said it didn't even power up. He told me that it would cost at least $100 to get it serviced. I tried to get my money back and was even willing to eat the shipping, but they said the sale is final after 2 days. They don't give you much time to test the equipment. I ate the shipping and $89.00 for the amp. I will probably troubleshoot it when I get some time and an oscilliscope, I have board level troubleshooting experience, I went to DeVry Institute of Technology.

I'd like to hear more about US Acoustics Amps. These seem to be bargain-basement amps, but I notice they rate them @ 12.9V instead of the industry average 14.4V. From what I have seen, doing this means the company is serious about performance. If that's so, how can they get away with selling them so cheap?
How are the internal companents on these amps?
Are these strong recommendations, or "hey, if you're looking in the bargain bin, I would go with these".
I was looking at a 5/6 channels from either JBL ($399)or Planet audio ($479), but could buy 2 Us Acoustics for well under that...
Also, what line from US Acoustics do you recommend?
