hey guys i've heard that you can hook up your aftermarket alarm siren to a button and make it chirp whenever the button is pushed.... i figured all you would have to do is run an extra wire from the + of the siren to the battery and add a button/switch in between?? but then i figured how would the siren sound if it doesn't know which frequency to produce... anyway, how would one go about doin something like this??

btw, i have a crimestopper cs-2013fm system...

THANKS!

you could take a relay and wire it to have a (-) activation form an extra remote channel and output a (+) signal.  however, i think that will make most sirens output the normal siren sound for the duration of the channel output.  maybe if the output is short enough you get a chirp.

exact same way...use a momentary push switch and a relay.... very simple... push switch trips the relay to power the siren

you dont need a relay just hook one wire to fused 12v and the other from the switch to the + input to siren

For that ^^^, you would need a switch that can handle around 1 amp. Also you will need a fuse. If you want a relay then wire it like this

how would a relay make a difference? it would just make sure that the output was short?

it would cope with the load required by the siren, which may or may not be more than a push switch will handle
