I was looking for 4 inch speakers for my dash and came up with this general question. I am trying to understand what do they mean when they give a range of RMS, esp the lower value. For example, in MB quart RKC 110, the range is 30-80 rms. Does it mean that the speaker will not sound good if I try to listen at a lower volume? Or it just means that it gives it's best performance when the power is >30 and <80 rms?

Thanks!

nooooo lol my MB quart 3.5's have an RMS of 30 and a max power of 50. so yours would be 30 RMS, 80 max.

What this means is that the recommended amount of input power in watts rms to provide adequate performance is between 30 and 80 watts rms. It is a general guideline only, you can power them with deck power of 16 watts and they will sound just fine, but they perform much better when they have say 50 watts.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
