hey

well in deciding what to get as a remote starter for my car I called AsianWolf.com they said  the PRESTIGE 996A is a junk and it is no way compaeble with the alarms they are selling ..!!

Is that really true... I'm asking this b/c where ever I go in alarm shops here they tell me that is their best choice even better than valet...

Asian Wolf suggests these in order

M3600... which I hate the ugly/huge remote on it

Valet 554R which I hared that is worse than prestige 996a or 996c and it has big remote

Lynx 2000... the remote looks like your 2nd cell phone

FM2009 ..well I like that specially it has nice remote and it come with 2 LCD remotes for just 140$

and some others...

so I was wondering is PRestige really worse than all this ..(for 150$ on ebay)

please advice and help me the choose the best!

if youre to make a comparison to any 2-way by DEI, i would take the prestige over them.

You get what you pay for ! If you wanting something to protect your car and what's in it....... why skimp on the alarm system. Get a reliable system and the cost should not matter ! Most of the time what you spend on an alarm to protect the car and the stuff inside, you will spend on the deductible that the insurance companies charges you after a claim, not to mention the premium increase afterwards !

well the thing is where ever I call they offer me Prestige and they are very happy with it

I like a quality Item and I pay for it... the problem is that mostinstallers don't know those other brands... and they can not help me pretty good

what I like about the new prestige is that it has everything and the remote is pretty handy... also everyone know it...

So let see you are saying it is not good? may I know why .... plz?

which brand do you recomened with those capabilities and small nice remote !

is the FM 2009 good? did any one here tried it?

thanx

The FM2009 is like about 6 other systems that I know of and the remote controls are VERY fragile. If you drop them once or twice, they are done for. That's why they give you two of them Is Prestige audiovox alarms really junk? -- posted image.. The range on them are very good though considering the quality of the units. I have no beef with the Prestige line of products, it's just that I prefer the Compustar for ease of installation and also the warranty they give us here at the shop. I have installed Prestige systems before and the customer's have been very happy with them, but for personal preference as an installer, I like the user functions and the isntaller options that the Compustar gives me.

I agree with Velocity to a point.
I have seen some $600 alarms installed and not work any better than a $50 no name alarm. And I have seen some $50 no name alarms work flawlessly as if they were $600 alarms. It all depends upon how it is installed!
So, if you like the Prestige alarm and it's functions, than buy it. If you install it correctly it should work flawlessly for you and you will be happy. A whole lot happier than if you let someone talk you into an alarm your not sure of or know about.

thanks a lot guys....

 you are very helpfull

just a final question...

I got a Maxima 2000

so by now I'm pretty positive going by prestige 996a or 996C, I want all my windows to close (including the sunroof)

what do I exactly need as hard ware, having in mind the car is maxima 2000 and has imobalizer and other special things for itself

this guy is giving me a price 475 for alarm and 300 for windows and he will put in all hardware including alram in my car

I guess that is over priced...what is a fair price

could any one brake up the price bettween hard ware  and labor

appreciated
