why do you want to hear bass outside? Are you talking with the doors open you dont hear bass or with the windows up and the door shut. If you are talking about the latter I would kill to have your problem.

lol, to most your "problem" would be a blessing. There could be a number of reasons. Car could be insulated really really well. They sound good in your car, but arent that loud at all. (enough to be heard outside). Could be the way you have them facing. etc etc etc.

My friends 2003 S-10 hits 139.9 (cant seem to make it break 140) and you cant hear a peep outside when he is in the lanes. I can only wish that my little swift could do that. Granted I run 4 12s so its a little more unrealistic.

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota extended cab that I'm customizing and I'm going to just have 1 JL Audio 12W7 sub in the Subzone sealed box with at least 750 watts RMS powering the sub from a PPI mono amp.  I'm going to end up using Dynamat Extreme on most of the inside of my truck.  Do you guys think I'll have a similar "problem" of not being able to hear bass outside the truck?  Or will the 12W7 pound so hard with all that power that my windows will explode and my truck will bounce up and down when I drive?  Keep in mind this will be in a small truck cab with all that Dynamat.  Thanks for the input.

I had the same problem (if you want to call it a problem) with my 94 b-4000 x cab with a single MTX 8000 10"@ 300 wats, hit like mad in the cab, but with the doors closed and the windows up, couldn't hear any thing outside the truck. When the windows were down or the doors open you could hear and feel the bass from 50 ft away, just good insulation i guess

You are honored not to be able to hear you music on the outside....   That will keep you safe from people wanting to steal your system and even tickets...

I wish I was that lucky..
