Factory Fog Lights

Ok I have a friend with an '02 Xtreme blazer that came from the factory with fog lights. Well the other day we got an idea to make the fog lights stay on with the brights, but we need some help with wiring this in. Is there anyway this can be done using a relay, without cutting wires, but instead tapping into them preferably.

What we have so far is that when the light switch is turned onto Low(yellow) is showing ground; and switched to High(purple) is showing ground. But when you test for a 12V, you get switched to Low(purple) is showing 12V; and switched to High(yellow) is showing 12V. Any ideas?  Thanks

First off it is usually ileagal to have the fog lamps stay on with the brights.

If you really want to however, GM usually uses an interupt relay that is trigered witht the high beams. It should be around the fuse block. If you can find it you should connect the wires on pins 30 and 87a.  This way, even if the relay is swithed there is current.  You can pull the relay and make sure you tape and/or solder these connections seeing as they carry quite a bit of current and are capable of causing a fire. I've seen it happen. But just remember it is ussually illeagal and will most likely not pass inspection.  If a cop sees you with your high beams on and the fog lights on he will probably pull you over.  Just check your local laws.

hey thanks for the information, we will try it later on today when he comes over again; but anyway yeah I'm pretty sure it is also illegal here in texas, but I dont think he cares about that. I will follow up on the updates as they happen.. Thanks again.
