That kit will still only work if the factory speaker wires are retained. Since I was under the imprsion that he was upgrading the speaker wire from the amp to the speakers he will still have to use a 4 ohm speaker. And yes you can use any 4 ohm speaker, I just use the little crysler ones because they are cheap and easy to mount/hide.

The buzzer is built into the interface. You shoulnd't need a speaker.

but if he replaces the speaker and wiring than there is nothing to produce sound, unless of course this kit actually has something to actually create the buzzing noise. I dont know the kit you speak of so I dont know exactly whats included

Yes, the PAC interface includes a buzzer that replaces the factory speakers for the door chimes, etc.  This means the amplified system from the aftermarket stereo will not produce the chimes, only the interface buzzer will.  An elegant solution.

Thats pretty cool. As I said I have never used that harness or heard of it which is why I thought he still needed the speaker for the chime.

If you can't find it locally, you can order it from Audio Outfitters.

In this system, usingthe PAC C2R-GM24 interface so that I do not have to keep the radio installed but yet have the warning chimes, how do you go about resetting the check oil light that comes on when its time to change your oil or the programming of the keyless entry settings?
