i know the impulse alarm isn't very popular among the installers here but i already made my mistake of buy it and installing it already. i just had a few questions w/ it if anyone was familiar w/ it.

1. the alarm auto-arms itself when i leave the car, is there a setting that i can choose so that i can make it lock or unlock when it arms itself? (is there a way to program it through the remote?)

2. how can i stop my alarm from arming itself. everytime i un-arm it, about 1 minute later, it arms itself again, how can i stop that? (is there a way to program it through the remote?)

3. how do i change the sensitivity level on my alarm? (i want to make it more sensetive)

There are 4 ( or 5 ) DIP switches on the side of the alarm system. SWITCH # 2 is for PASSIVE ARMING. Turn this switch to the OFF position and it will solve your problem.

To change the sensitivity you have to:

  • Hold the VALET switch when the car is OFF until the siren CHIRPS once
  • Exit the car and close the door within 5 seconds
  • Wait until the system CHIRPS 2 times in a row
  • WAIT 2 seconds and then hit the car as hard as you want the car to be hit before the alarm activates
  • The system will CHIRP to confirm that it has learned the new impact setting

Look at my above post in the beginning. This will stop the AUTO arming with the flick of the switch.

No way around it....it's an EITHER / OR situation but not both. Does your unit have 4 or 5 dip switches ?
