I have a 487V transmitter that has lost communication with the vehicle. Does anyone know how to program this thing? I tried holding down the lock key with no success. I called Ultimate and he acted like it is a third world secret. Thanks in advance

Open the door (or ground the green wire)

Turn the key on

Press program button 8 times, then hit once more and hold it down this time

should chirp 8 times, while still holding the program button, hit the lock button on the remote, should chirp to confirm, do both remotes.

Let go of the program button

Most importantly, find a new shop if they would not help you with that

Did that work???????

Thanks

Mike

It varies from car to car. Your son should know the answer. Its a small black push button. If it was installed properly, it won't be out in the open.
As the poster said above, you will probably need to replace the 478 remote with a 479 series. They are much more reliable.

Once you find the valet button you have to open the door put the key in the cylinder to the on position then press the valet button 7-times then press and hold it once more. The siren will chirp and the led will flash 8-times. While holding the valet button press the arm/lock button on the transmitter the unit will chirp indicating succesful programming. If this does not work find an authorized DEI dealer so they could send the unit for repair. The unit you have is the first batch that they brought out and most of them had/have that problem with the remote not responding.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
