I bought a  6500esp and am planning on doing a self install into a 2000 Chevy Malibu.  The Malibu has power doors, locks, and trunk release.  I'm assuming it has Passlock II as well.  What additional modules will I need to do this install?

So a 555L and what is the part number for the door lock modules and do I need more than 1? Also, do I need anything for the trunk?

The 2000 Chevy Malibu is simple for the most part. Only Module you will need is the 555L. Nothing needed for the door.
I put a Sidewinder 6500ESP in a 99 Malibu. all i needed was the 555L. And from the wiring schematics that I have seen, Chevy didn't change a bloody thing from 99 to 2000. Just remember to diode isolate the wires.
And get the 555L do not attempt to do it the old school way. Too much of a headache....and way too much math involved for a bloody alarm install.

Sorry, I'm a newbie, but...
How did you do the doors and trunk w/o additional modules?
What kind of diodes at parts express would I need?
Thanks

honestly, I can't remember it was like 2 years ago. I think I either straight hooked the wires up ( diode Isolated of course ) or I used 2 relays. I actually have to see the wire diagram for the car as well as the wiring diagram for the alarm to tell you exactly how I did it. as far as what kind of diodes..the standard
1N4001/L. If I remember correctly, To doorlocks, just needed a positive and a negative pulse to trip the factory relays to operate. Easiest way to find out, get your hands on the DEI Wiring diagrams for your car. I'd get it, but two years no shop, no DEI password anymore.

the reason i suggest a 451M module for the locks is two-fold... first, some of the DEI units only come with a negative out for locks ( your Malibu is positive ) while other models have dual polarity door lock outputs... and secondly, if you want to make sure that you never overload and blow the lock output transistors in your main brain then use the 451M...it's only 20 bucks and you just prevented a POSSIBLE problem from ever occuring.... you know what they say about an ounce of prevention.....

Well if I only used the brain to trip a relay and powered it externally, would I still need the 451Ms? Also, can someone interepret the following for me:
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=2000&make=Chevrolet&model=Malibu&ID=17440&type=Alarm
I'm not sure what the different doors locks are and which wire needs to see a positive pulse.
Also, is my 6500esp going to come with a manual?

find you door lock wires     with a test light check one lf them.   if it locks or unlocks when touched you have negative locks.   if nothing happens   put test light on wire and lock / unlock the doors  if the light lightens up u have positive locks.    if nothing happpens either time  you may need a 456 g(dei  )   to operate your locks
