We are now enterered in the 'best of install' @ the upcomming CIAA show on July 1st.   We have a full show car to enter forthe rest of the comp, but there is one problem, it has nothing in the trunk.   The rest of the civic is covered with red & silver crushed metallic velvet, this is what we have to work with:

We decided to look at some Alpine type-r equipment, two dual 4ohm 10"s, and two 420's to run them to be exact. We also picked up a pre-fab (we only have a week to finish the rest of the car) that would hold the subs where we want them:

We layed out the amps where we wanted them, kinda tight fit... it's gonna be fun:

I cut a trim to fit in the rear deck/tailgate area:

At this point i cut two plates to hold the precious Apline 420's:

We then decided to mock the audio equip. and take a look at what it would look like.... well we did this every 10 mins..... were kinda inpatient:

Looks pretty sick.... now to stretch the grill fabric, i took it out and used speaker grille cloth and staples:

Then we masked the trunk and put in the stretched trim:

Looking pretty good....... then we got it gooey:

Unforutanately after this point, things didn't come out quite the way we planned:

So we cleaned the trim, cut new plugs, and restretched, this time with Fish Fabric......good stuff....  oh, and this time, well use PVA & Tape on the plugs......new ’94 civic trunk for CIAA show -- posted image.:

Anyway.... that's all for now.... will update before the show.... hope you boys like..... and i hope the competition isn't reading.... they might know what to expect...... under all that pretty fascia, is a boring old pre-fab.....new ’94 civic trunk for CIAA show -- posted image.

thanx auex.......    fiberglass is a two part polyester resin that is saturated into glass cloth- First you wear a f/g mat diaper, then you pour resin down the front....  when your c**k is burning, it's almost ready.

pretty good concept design of the trunk considering the time span you have left. looking foward to seeing a smooth + shiney surface. btw, what color r u gonna make the glass?
