What do you mean by that? How could I check that problem and correct it?

I think the amp is ok. I connected the power-ground-remote up in someone elses car and the amp powered up. So my next step would be to check all the power running back to the amp. Ill check it out and see what happens. Again I thank everyone for the help.

Take your power ufse out and check it woth a meter, it might not look blown, but it still could be.  It sounds wierd but its happened to me.  Then put it back in the holder and make sure it has continuity through it, if thats all good I would say your battercable is screwed up or your ground wire.

Ok well I switched the amp and subs from my roomates car. His amp didnt work in my car either. So I started checking a little bit and I think the RCA's outputs are bad on the back of the deck. I also ran some checks on the amp itself and and only only the left input channel for the RCA's works.

It sounds like the amp when it was installed in your car was in protection mode. This could be due to a blown sub, a speaker wire going to ground or a rca cable that is going to ground. Most amps that are running in mono or bridged accept only the left channel rca input.

I need to give a better description I think.

I took my amp and switched it with the one in my buddies car. Only the left input RCA jack on the amp works. Only the left +,- work on the outputs on the amp as well.

I took his amp and put it in my car and his amp goes into a protection mode. It wont really do much of anything. I have full power going to the amp, the remote wire has power and the ground looks ok.

If his amp works fine in his car and not in yours, then the problem will lie in either a bad sub or subs, bad speaker wiring or bad rca cables and maybe just maybe a bad cd player (I really doubt this though). It sounds more and more like you have a bad channel in your amp that may have been caused by a damaged sub or sub wire.
