Own a 99 M3 and can't this thing to remote start. heres a little backround

In 99 BMW changed all the 3 series to the new body style(E46) expect the M series, which stayed the old (e36) body style. My info @ work doesn't have the specific wireing for my car. I put a remote start in my friends 97 M3 w/o a hitch.

I Know its something w/ the Anti-theft bypass.(EWS II) its somehow saves the chip in memory. so i can start w/ the key the pull it out and withing 15 seconds i can remote start it. was thinking about taking the EWS II out of the picture but would rather not. had a 1999 5 series give my old manager the same problem but we can't contact him. if anyone could help that would be great!

ive sometimes removed the key cylinder pickup coil , inserted an extra key and stuffed it all under the dash somewhere. oh yea!!! also extended the wires of course. ive done this on quite a few bimmers. i dont unerstand why yours should be much different?

same PDF i have @ work. iam using a DEI 555B to replace the second EWS II ring. i may scrap the DEi part and get a second ring

That 555B will also work.

Just make sure you cut one of the green wires (going from the EWS ring to the EWS module) in half. Attach the end coming from the steering wheel to "white wire" of the 555B and attach the other end going into the EWS module to "BLACK/ white wire" of the 555B. The "black wire" you connect to the other "green wire". "Red" to 12 volts and "Blue" to status output of the remote start. Make sure you use the staus output, otherwise it will not work.
