Mounting sub amp, Is it ok to do this?

Is it ok to mount my sub amp upside down? It is a kicker 850.2 I want to mount it under the rear deck between the 6x9's in the trunk.

No, the amp will overheat because heat rises and if the heat sink is upside down then the heat will rise right back into the amp.

Absolutely not, it is desinged to dissipate heat to the top of the amp like customsuburb said.

How about mounting it suppended from the rear deck with the right side up, not up side down, with a 1 inch air space above it? The problem is I have very little room :(

sure, you could try that but you'd better make sure that you have a couple of, or one large fan(s) blowing right through the 1" air-space.  This is especially true in the summer time.

ive got mine mounted horizontal... on the back of my box.... its not overheating one bit... its a jbl 600.1 incase ur wondering.. but im in an suv...
