where does gm put the xm tuners? lets say for example a new chevy truck. also does the antenna have a generic plug like aftermarket antennas, or does the antenna wire go directly into the tuner. im wondering this in case someone wants sirius instead of xm in a gm vehicle. id like to be able to use the factory antenna.

you're making this more complicated than it is... just install sirius in there like normal... add the sirius antenna.  although i have gotten a siruis antenna to pick up a hazy xm reception before... just install the siruis stuff in addition to the xm stuff from the factory. easy.
