How good are eclipse amps? I found one that looks like it may work. CLICK (model # 34230) It says the amp will run 370 x 2 watts RMS @ 4 ohm. SOO could i run each 4 ohm voice coil in the DVC sub on one channel giving the sub a total of 740 watts rms? I guess my ? is if you can run each VC off a diff channel of the same amp? If this would work do you think the alt. could handle this amp.

As far as I know a LOC is the same thing as a high level converter, if not than I guess thats what I was trying to get at anyways. And if the other guy is running a MTX 1501D and not having any problems than I would guess that Alpine would be fine because that MTX amp is a current pig, I know, I used to sell em.

That converter looks like it would work just fine, although you might look into forbidden's suggestion for the Audio Control processor...The amp will put out stereo with the two channels, so a coil on each channel will have a different input from the other coil.  I have seen both pros and cons for wiring coils separately.  I think, though, that if the RCA inputs to the amp were combined with Y cables to form a mono signal input to each channel, so that they were each the same input,  you could go ahead and wire each coil like that.  But I am just speculating, I haven't done it.

The Eclipse has a stereo/mono switch.  I don't know if that itself will combine the left and right signals.  That would do away with the Y cables if so.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

From my understanding, that is exactly what the switch should do, at least thats what it has done on other amps I have used. The elipse are great amps adn should work wonders on that 15. And even though its not nessasary I think its kinda nice when everything matches up. If for no other reason than asthetics
