Put the scissors down!!!! Back away from it very slowly and go to circuit city or your local stereo shop and get the proper harness. If you do something the right way, you'll only have to do it once.

Well if there is no chance of putting the factory radio back in the vehicle then I say go ahead and hard wire the harness. There is nothing wrong with cutting a factory harness so long as it will never be used again. But the fact that you asked the question in the first place kinda worries me. By your name I would assume that you graduated mobile dynamics, with that being said you should have known the answer to the question. You should also have known where to find the answers to the kit part as well. GM colors are pretty much the same for all models. If you click on the diagrams link at the top you can find the info you will need.
PS: Incase you weren't aware, you will also need an antenna adapter, metra part #40-GM10 as referred to earlier.

well then, at the risk of beating a dead horse.... take the Metra or Scosche part #'s you already been quoted and go buy the proper items you'll need to do this install.......

remember young skywalker, there's two ways to do everything and one of them's properly.......

Either take the parts with you or buy them shen you are there (this way if the parts are wrong you can return them for the correct ones. According to my bible (hasn't helped me win the lottery yet though) you will need 3 parts, already posted for the Metra model #'s. Here are the scosche model #'s.

Kit - GM1503  or GM1500 series kit (GM1500, GM1508) the 1503 kit is your best bet.

Harness - GM02 (may be tagged at GM02B)

Antenna Adaptor - MDA1 (may be tagged as MDA1B)

This is a straight forward install. The GM02 wire harness is color coded to the aftermarket wire harness. Do not just twist the wires and black tape / scotch tape them together. Crimp them or solder them.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Or if you have to go to Future Shop the parts are a BAA4B, BHA1858, BKGM4. Also most kits list on the back what vehicles they work for and that vehicle uses about the most generic parts you can find.
