I bought a 790 XV and the guy sent me a 556U to bypass the factory alarm. The DEI says that the 556U will work, but I dont understand how to wire it sense my 1995 2dr ford explorer dosent use a RF chip in the key. Thanks in advance for the help. (im a veteran audio installer, but alarms are new to me)

Are you sure that you even have an immobilizer? If you can start your truck with a plain metal key then you don't have an immobilizer and don't need the 556U.

the key I use is a copy so i know theres no Chip in it. I do know I have some type of alarm. I say this becasue if I use the factory keyfob / remote to lock the door and then open the door after its armed I get the annoying horn honk. this can be stoped by starting the car with the copied key or the remote. So if I dont have an imobilizer what do I need to do to disarm the factory alarm that I do have. Thanks for the fast repy :).

This vehicle does not have a chip in the key.You don't need any special unit. You simply connect your unlock wire (diode isolate)to the factory disarm wire.

So, do I hook up the door unlock output from my 790XV to
"OEM Alarm Disarm D GREEN/ PURPLE (-) IN ROUND 55 PIN CONN IN DRIVER KICK" ?
Or
Would i hook up the Lt GREEN/ Black Factory disarm/special accessory output (on the 790) TO "OEM Alarm Disarm D GREEN/ PURPLE (-) IN ROUND 55 PIN CONN IN DRIVER KICK".
Any considerations I need to make sense Im using remote start?
Thanks!

Ok i installed my 790XV in my explorer and Im have a few problems. Here is the list, any help is greatly appreaciated.
1. The alarm falses after 20-30 mins and shows as a door trigger. I tied the door triggers from the kick pannels togeter and used a diode. the diode has the Stripe towards the kickpannel not the alarm module.
2. The Microwave sensor will not "warn" it only triggers the alarm. I set it up so outside movement triggers the green led and inside movement triggers the red led. As per the install manual I hooked up power and ground and then took the blue and green wire and hooked them both up the to the bule "multiplexed" input on the alarm. (no diodes). The green light goes off and nothing happens, and then the second tiem the green light goes off the alarm triggers.
3. I tried to hook up a relay to aux 4. the relay cam from rat shack and is an automotive relay. I hooked up constant 12v to one side and the oposite side is connected to the device I want to power up when activated. I hooked ground up to the ground pin and hooked the aux output the the pin across from ground. When aux 4 is activated I read .6V to the relay but the relay dosent send the 12v to the device I have hooked to it.
3. The key chain does not vibrate or show me when the alarm is acivated. How do I turn this function?
4. If I use aux 4 to turn on my Neon, what do I hook my power window module to so I can control the windows from my reomote?
5. I hooked the dome light to the 790 as directed so it would activate the alarm when the dome light turns on. When I lift the door handle and the dome comes on the alarm does not trigger. Any sugestions?
Thanks in advance for any help. This is my first time installing an alarm. I think I did pretty good considering the remote start worked LOL.

I have a 95 Explorer Limited. If you have a specific wiring issue let me know. I'm not an expert installer so I'm a little unsure about your probs but I know my Ford wiring pretty good, alright really good.

can you answer any of the 5 questions I posted? Do you have any hints as to what I might want to look at? Do you need me to more specificly explain any of my issues so that you can better help me? Thanks.
