I'm interested in what companies make good sound damening material. I know that dynamat is one of the best, but the most expensive. I'm wondering if you tried other companies such as brown bread, raam mat, fat mat, or any others. I'm looking for something that's best bang for the buck. Thanks

brown bread...what the pro's use.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

It depends on how much you want to spend. Dynamat is expensive, but alternatives like fatmat raam mat is less expensive and can get the same job done.

I recently put Fat mat all round in my car and it works excellent and very good bang for your buck.

If you're on a tight budget then you can go to the local carpet outlet and purchase the rubber under padding used for basements.
They come in various thickness from 1/8 to 3/8th thickness. The going rate is $3.00 a yard.
You may also go to Walmart and purchase there Rubberized undercoating which is made by Bondo. It sells for 1.78 a can.
Just another option for you.

Be clear about what you want to use it for. If for rattles it will pretty much do nothing, depending on what is rattling. For eliminating road noise and any type of external noises then it is good.
Basically what I am saying don't buy it and expect all the rattles to be gone.
Also I like rubberized undercoating.
