MAKE SURE TO FUSE the wire within 12 inches of the battery if you're gonna do this.... i suggested it as a diagnostic measure, not a fix.......

Can I fuse the groung (-)? I'd prefer the ground since I have a second "ignition on" power I'll be using from the factory radio harness.

Also, the new cd player has a built in 10A fuse, should I use the same resistance for the new inline fuse by the battery?

no,   fuse the power... the idea of a fuse is to prevent the vehicle from burning down if the wire somehow gets shorted to ground... if you fuse your ground wire and the power wire shorts going through the firewall your vehicle will burn down.....

think about it..........
