I've searched to formus, and I've noticed the question has been asked serveral times a few months back, but no replies with answers. Has anyone found a solution that works?

I'd like to find a wire/circuit to tap into that would allow my amp to stay on after the key is removed and before the door opened.

Could you be any more vague?

Do you have the factory Bose system?

Do you have an aftermarket deck?

If no, how did you tap into the audio signal from the factory deck?

If you have an aftermarket deck, what wire harness did you use to install the radio?

Well, I guess it was at least a response!

Not sure what type of speakers, or what type of deck, or even how I tapped into anything has to do with identifying the RAP circuit on an 04 Silverado. Guess the real answer is that it's still not known, since these are the same old questions and answers everyone seems to receive.

I can almost tell you what happens next. I answer your questions, and you (or someone else) will reply with yet another comment that has nothing to do with helping to identify the RAP circuit. So, let me answer your question and prove the theory.

Yes, I have a factory Bose system. I used pac-audio part OEM-1 which connects between the deck and the factory harness (no splicing necessary). Currently, I have the amp on an accessory circuit from the fuse box, but would really like for the amp to stay on with the radio after the truck is turned off, and before the doors are opened. So... if someone who has actually found a place to tap into the RAP circuit might please share, or what options they might have used in order to accomplish this, it would be greatly appreciated to all those looking for the answer.

Can't find a RAP wire then build your own. Check the relay section to the left.

Oh, and don't mouth off to superiors. He was simply asking for more information then you offered in your post.

I love smart ass responses. There was a point to my questions. I'll still help you anyway.

The wire that keeps the radio on is a data signal. But I'm sure you read about that in all those other posts without answers. I'm not sure if the RAP system puts out a +12v system anywhere in the vehicle...but it definately doesn't at the radio.

Go to www.pac-audio.com and look under Products. Go down to Trigger Modules. You will find the Tr-4 under it. Connect it to a speaker wire in the vehicle and your amp will turn on and off when the deck turns on and off. Many other companies make similar devices. DEI's is part number 55000a or b.

if you have oem radio tap to 12v on the back oem radio

it is a 12v + ouput is should be in the bigger harness of the two behind the radio (PLEASE test w/ a meter to be sure !!!! cause there are a couple of green wires ) wire to a relay (30) 12v constant , (85) ground , (87) Amps , (86) output from radio , (87) n/a

you can do this to power accys like video components DVD, VCR, TV tuner, XM to be powered after the key is off and will stay on till you open door!!!

RAP (Retained Accessory Power) is controlled by the BCM which is located under the steering column. There is no wire that you can tap behind the radio as they use data to tell the radio to turn on as well as the Bose amp. You can go directly to the BCM and using a relay tap the RAP wire and do it that way. The signal the BCM gives is a positive output and a normal relay can be used. If you would like me to I will post the exact location of said connection to supply you with a RAP signal to trigger a relay.
