Hey everyone.  I've been looking into buying a new vehicle now.  A 1989-1991 Mazda 2200 series truck.  I'd like to  lower it and what not, but I want to get a sound system put in as well.  I was wondering if any of you would know of any well trusted online stereo stores that would sell good products for a cheap price?  I have checked out onlinecarstereo.com but i wasn't sure if they give the best prices.  Can any of these sites rip you off in anyway too? thanks.

Any on line site can rip you off, you get what you pay for. Very, very few of these sites are authorized dealers, thus warranty is sacrificed. While some sites may have some authorized lines, others may not be. What happens a year down the road if they are gone or the product you bought is no longer made? Just way too many horror stories from people that have bought on line. We dealers work damn hard for our customers, we provide advice to people just like you all day long, find yourself a good local dealer, build a rappore with them and pay the man. This goes much further than buying something online because you want to save a couple of $.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Onlinecarstereo.com is one of the better known and more well established of the car audio internet dealers. I havent heard of many people having problems with them. Soundomain.com and partsexpress.com are also reputable dealers.   Its also safe to say that the dealers on ebay with like 10,000+ positive feedbacks can be trusted. But remember, as Rob said, few, if any of these sites offer any kind of factory warranty. Although most of them offer a warranty of their own.

aint that the truth. I buy stuff of etronics and what not for people who want me to 'hook them up'. But when it comes to my stuff, I goto my rockford man. Cost a little more, but I paid like $150 for a sub and have had that sub replaced like 8 times, for free, beat that with any online dealer and your smok'n something. As for onlinecarstereo.com, they sell JL audio, that right there is a good indication that their not an authorized dealer since JL audio doesn't allow online dealers of their products.

The flip side of this is that if you have a limited budget it can go A LOT further online than buying retail if you're willing to take a chance.  I saved nearly 1/2 the total cost of my system, around $800, by buying online instead of through my local dealer.
