on the back of my sub enclosure i have built an amp/battery rack. the entire structure is flushed into the sides of the vehicle. the front board is made out of mdf and fiberglass and has plexiglass windows so you can see the amps, batteries and cap. here in lies the problem....the plexiglass keeps cracking and im assuming it is from vibration. the first time it happened we pulled everything out and used foam and dynamat hoping it would cut down on the problem, it didn't. now it has happened again and i am at a position where i don't know what else to do. is there an alternative material that i can use instead of the plexiglass that won't crack as easy? i can only use materials around 1/4 inch thick at the most b/c of the shape of the structure. someone plz help

Check your local glass shop for Lexan. It is a bit more tolerant than normal plexiglass and should be available in 1/4" sheets.

It's also about 2X the price if not more. Make sure you do your shopping around for this stuff to get the best price possible.

Looks just like plexiglass, is impact resistant, and you can hit with a hammer. However, it is more prone to scratching. As VM said it is significantly more expensive, but for the size you need for a subbox still very reasonable. It's what I've used in past installation, although all of mine I was able to obtain as scrap from much larger pieces.

Go to the glass shops cause they can specially order this in for you if they don't already have it in stock. This is the same stuff they use for bullet proof glass and also SPL comeptition vehicles instead of regular glass.
