89 Cherokee Keyless Install

I have yet to see a North American vehicle which the horn does not work, without the key in the cylinder. The horn is a safety device, which is always powered, and ready to use, such as your four way hazards. If it does indeed operate as you discribe, then there is either a wiring fault, or someone has modified it to do so. Regards EVIL Teken . . .

YIKES............it's a 1989.....My brain hurts

There R some,  sorry to say,  U.S. vehicles that the horn does not work without the key on.  What wire did U have?

I think this will give the same results at the Horn relay, as U noticed the color was Gray and it is a + positive input.
