Hello all,

I'm in the process of tagging all the wires from the Alarm CPU and am having some problems identifying a couple of wires on the truck:

2001 Ford Ranger Edge: 4x4 : 4-door

1.) Can't find the AC / Heater output. Probably could if I knew the coloring.

2.) Courtesy Light - Pretty sure my dimmer switch is shot so can't locate that one either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

Notes:

NOTE:  This vehicle is equipped with PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System).  .  *1 The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is to the left of the radio.  *2 The driver door trigger is yellow/black and the passenger door(s) is gray/red. Use both wires and diode isolate as shown in directfax document #1076.  *3 The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is on the top of the firewall under the hood towards the passenger side. The tachometer wire is in pin 48. Can also get tach at the ignition coil or coil pack. Use any of the tan/stripe wires.  *4 The GEM in this vehicle shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to "wake-up" the system

So can I just x-connect the door trigger and the dome supervision right from the Alarm CPU?

Or, do I need to run separate connections (utilizing diodes) from each of the door triggers back to each corresponding wire ( One set from the actual doors to the Door Trigger, and one set to the dome supervision )?

As always, thank you Jeff.

You must grab each door separately and diode isolate each door and the dome light you can use the driver door trigger ( piggyback ) but it too must be diode isolated.
