I was curious where the module is located for the OEM keyless entry for the 01 Chevy trucks??  We have a truck that had keyless entry we think but there was no remote with the truck.  So if  anyone has instructions on programming remotes or where this module is located or should be located so we can put the new one in.  Thanks

Jeff

Not sure where the module is located, but to replace transmitters, I think you have to go through the dealer, and they reprogram the vehicle to accept the remotes, just like aftermarket systems.  This is from the owners manual of an 01 Silverado.  Just a side note:  To resync a remote to a GM keyless entry, stand close to the vehicle and hold both the lock and unlock buttons down for seven seconds, and the door locks will cycle to confirm resync.  More useless info, but it came in handy once...
If it don't fit, Force it.
If it breaks, You needed a new one anyway!
