Wire harness worth it?

I am installing a alarm with remote start in a 2003 Yukon.  I have seen wire harnesses for sale that connect to factory plugs that are supposed to make install go quicker.  Do they and anyone have experince with them?

What type of alarm/RS unit and what module (wire harness) are you planning on using?You can do it!

I plan on using a Clifford AG 5.  The only wire harnesses I have seen were made by bulldog.  Any other suggestions?  I do plan on using a DEI module for  Passlock/doorlocks/window.

I usually buy one from Crutchfield made by CrimeGuard and modify the molex connector end to fit whatever brand of alarm that i'm installing. I have to say, it takes away about 50% of the work, especially if you are installing starter disable. It's definitely worth it.

Just got done installing an UltraStart 1250 in my Frontier pickup. I purchased the T-Harness made by BullDog security, then just chopped off the connectors they have at the ends (the leads needed to be trimmed anyway, they were too long). It really does save time and effort, and you dont have the worry of possibly screwing up your factory wiring (yeah, we should be good enough at this to not do that, but ya never know when things might go wrong). Ive seen a couple people say they were a waste, because it makes the wiring too obvious (not an issue if its not an alarm) and it adds too much wiring in general, but I found it quite simple to wrap the wires up with the factory steering column wiring harness. Looks very clean and professional, and I didnt have to go near my factory wires.
